School Programs & Field Trips

Bring Your School or Camp Group to Visit the Museum

The Elmhurst History Museum welcomes school groups, summer camps and other groups to the museum by appointment on weekdays.

Museum Field Trip Options

Student visits to the museum are planned by the museum staff and customized to teachers' and camp counselors' needs. Some of the featured in-house programs are:

  • Explore Elmhurst History: Museum staff will take your group on a guided tour of the museum's interactive Elmhurst history exhibit, By All Accounts: The Story of Elmhurst. Through photos and artifacts from the Museum's collection, children will learn how Elmhurst became the thriving city it is today. Kids will act as history sleuths by participating in a scavenger hunt for interesting artifacts (Grade 2-5).
  • Exhibit Tours: Exhibit tours for school groups and camps are also available for the museum's rotating schedule of original and traveling exhibits by appointment. An appropriate supplemental activity can be arranged and adapted to various groups.
