Concerts at the Elmhurst History Museum.
Where are the concerts held?
Concerts are held at the Elmhurst History Museum (120 E Park Ave.) on an outdoor bandshell.
Is the museum open during concerts?
Yes! We encourage you to visit our exhibits before the concert begins. The museum will remain open during the duration of the concert to provide restrooms for our patrons.
Is there seating?
No, seating is not provided. Please bring your own chairs and blankets for seating on the grass or permeable pavers in front of the stage.
Please leave any view-blocking umbrellas or chairs with built-in head coverings at home.
What time can I set up my chairs?
Seating is first come, first served! We welcome guests to begin setting up chairs for concerts 2 hours before the performance is scheduled to begin. All chairs must be set up side-by-side in rows facing the stage, no “circle” seating is allowed.
Are there restrooms available during concerts?
Yes! Restrooms are available in the Elmhurst History Museum. The museum will close at 8 p.m. on concert evenings.
Who can attend the concerts?
All concerts and performances at the Elmhurst History Museum are all-ages and family-friendly. Please call the museum (630-833-1457) with any questions about upcoming performances.
Where can I park?
Free parking is available in the museum parking lot and on the street near the Elmhurst History Museum. Additional parking is available at the Adelaide Parking Deck (120 W Adelaide St).
Can I bring food and beverages?
Yes! You are welcome to bring small coolers and picnic baskets with refreshments to enjoy during the concert. Please note, alcohol is not permitted on museum property.
Is alcohol permitted?
No, alcohol is not permitted on museum property, unless otherwise noted for special events. We encourage you to visit one of the many restaurants within walking distance of the museum before or after the concert. Thank you for your cooperation.
Is smoking permitted?
No. The Elmhurst History Museum is a non-smoking facility. This includes vaping. Thank you for your cooperation.
Can I bring my dog?
Animals are not permitted on museum grounds, unless they are service animals.
What accessibility amenities are available at museum concerts?
The Elmhurst History Museum is committed to accessibility for guests with disabilities. Restrooms in the museum (Glos Mansion) are accessible for patrons with disabilities via an interior elevator, and an exterior lift at the rear of the building from the parking lot to access the first floor. If you have any accessibility needs or questions, please contact staff (630-833-1457 or ehmprograms@elmhurst.org) with as much advance notice as possible.
What happens in the case of bad weather?
The Elmhurst History Museum will be open during concerts and is fully air-conditioned. Any changes to the concert schedule due to weather will be announced on the museum’s website and Facebook page.
Can I take photos and videos of the performances?
Professional cameras with interchangeable lenses, video cameras, recording devices, and drones are prohibited. Recording and transmission at concerts are prohibited. No flash photography. At some shows, photography may not be allowed at all.
